The Dutch mezzosoprano Janine
Pas
earned her Master of Music degree at the New Opera Academy in The
Hague.
After this she won a scholarship to continue her studies in Paris,
with the American operasinger Peggy Bouveret ( Metropolitan Opera).
In Paris she received another scholarship, to support her career,
from the
prestigious
Académie Musicale de Villecroze.
Janine Pas regularly performs
opera, recitals and oratoria
throughout Europe. She was invited to perform in various festivals, radio
and
television recordings and concert series, where she worked with
conductors such as
Kenneth Montgomery, Ed
Spanjaard, Jan Stulen, Reinbert de Leeuw,
Joshua Rifkin, Jos Vermunt,
Jos van Veldhoven and Martin Sieghart.
Her great musical interest, musicality
and technical flexibility
enable her to have a wide range of repertoire, which encompasses
works from
the 17th to the 21st century, from Baroque
music to pieces especially composed for
and dedicated to her.
Recently she performed the role of Emilia in Otello by G. Verdi in
Amsterdam.
