The Dutch mezzosoprano Janine Pas

earned her Master of Music degree at the New Opera Academy in The Hague.

After this she won a scholarship to continue her studies in Paris,

with the American operasinger Peggy Bouveret ( Metropolitan Opera).

In Paris she received another scholarship, to support her career, from the

prestigious Académie Musicale de Villecroze.

Janine Pas regularly performs opera, recitals and oratoria

throughout Europe. She was invited to perform in various festivals, radio and

television recordings and concert series, where she worked with conductors such as

Kenneth Montgomery, Ed Spanjaard, Jan Stulen, Reinbert de Leeuw,

Joshua Rifkin, Jos Vermunt, Jos van Veldhoven and Martin Sieghart.

Her great musical interest, musicality and technical flexibility

enable her to have a wide range of repertoire, which encompasses works from

the 17th to the 21st century, from Baroque music to pieces especially composed for

and dedicated to her.

Recently she performed the role of Emilia in Otello by G. Verdi in Amsterdam.
